The Baphomet Seance angers Christian fundamentalist By Tory James

In 1983 a film called The Baphomet Seance was released. Quickly it attracted attention due to the graphic Satanic nature of the film. It presents itself as an instructional video of how to conduct a seance ritual that would allow the viewers to converse with the dead.  The Baphomet Seance was thought to have been created with occult and Satanic influences.

The film was banned in multiple locations through out the United States and Canada and it appeared that the film was forgotten and would be lost to history.

However recently an anonymous buyer purchased the original negative of The Baphomet Seance and has intentions to try and release it publicly. Speculation around who the anonymous buyer is has caused significant interest and speculation. Conspiracy theorists have speculated that the buyer include high profile individuals like Bill Gates and  Oprah Winfrey among others. While this is extremely unlikely it raising some interesting questions about who would buy and release the film and more importantly why.

While the film hasn’t been seen by the public in years a website and trailers exist on line about this little known film. Current materials suggest that The Baphomet Seance is an instructional video of how to summon the devil and use his secret ritual to conduct a seance that will allow you to speak with the dead. The reports continue to suggest that the film includes satanic rituals.,occult spells and Wiccan worship activities. Those who have seen the film have not indicated whether or not the film has demonic influences however they did say that the film left them with strange sensations including feeling dark, depressed and ill. This will be the first time the film The Baphomet Seance has been available to public in over 40 years.

The film has agreed that there will be a warning added at the beginning of the film sharing cautions from community and religious leaders who have had the chance to preview the film. However many of these leaders left reportedly left the screening before the completion of the film. Some of those viewing the film reporting feeling physically sick and unable to continue.

The film now considered to be ‘forbidden footage’ will be available in selected theaters and partnering with a variety of live events.

In a press release responding to the allegations of satanic involvement, the exhibitor of The Baphomet Seance denies the film was created with any kind of Satanic or occult influence. Representatives from the exhibitor suggest that any negative physical experiences that people viewing the film may have are able to be explained though scientific means.

The exhibitor argues that there was no reason to ban the film originally or now. ‘The film is not satanic in anyway, Satan doesn’t exist. He’s not real. This is just a film with scary ideas that people have gotten excited about.’
